Rome Eco Center

This scope included updating a 140-year-old pumping station that now serves as an Eco Center to improve its environmental performance and sustainability. We incorporated eco-friendly construction practices and design features to enhance the center’s environmental impact. The project involved updates to both the interior and exterior of the building, enhancing exhibit areas, improving accessibility, and ensuring the facilities meet modern environmental and educational standards. Key upgrades included converting the basement into functional classroom space, constructing a new atrium, elevator pit, and transforming an open patio into a reception office with a conference room. These improvements maintained the building’s historical integrity while significantly modernizing its functionality. This project involved revitalization that required particular attention to the building’s historical aspects. Due to unforeseen conditions, real time adjustments were necessary, requiring extensive collaboration with the owner and architect. Completed by Caliber 1 Construction, a certified, woman-owned company.
